Privacy Policy

This policy explains how your information is processed when you visit the medyaakademisi.com.tr website operated by Istanbul Media Academy (“the Academy”) and when you use the forms on it. For detailed information on the processing of personal data, please see the Personal Data Notice (KVKK, in Turkish).

1. Information we collect

• What you send through forms: the name, phone number, email address, message and choices you enter in the programme application, instructor application, contact and careers forms; for career and instructor applications, also your CV file, experience and portfolio link.
• Membership and purchases: when you sign up, your first and last name, email address, phone number and a hash of your password (the password itself is not stored); for corporate membership, the company name, tax office and tax number; when you buy, your billing address, an optional Turkish ID number, the order contents and the payment result. Card details are not entered or stored on this website: payment is made on the page of iyzico, a licensed payment institution, and the website only keeps the last 4 digits of the card and the number of instalments.
• Submission details: the date of submission, your IP address and the campaign source you came from (e.g. utm_source). These are used to prevent unwanted submissions (spam) and to see which channel applications come from.
• Server logs: for the website to work securely, the hosting infrastructure keeps technical records such as request time, the requested address and IP address for a limited period.

2. Cookies and browser storage

The website does not use analytics, advertising or personalisation cookies. Only the following cookies, which are strictly necessary for the service, are set when you take the related action:

• ima_sepet — to recognise your cart when you add a programme without signing in (30 days)
• ima_uye — to keep you signed in after you sign in as a member (30 days if “Remember me” is ticked; otherwise deleted when you close the browser)
• ima_hesap, ima_sepet_adet — to show the “My account” link and the number of participants in your cart in the top menu; they contain no personal information
• ima_oturum — a session cookie used only in the management panel by Academy staff; it is not set for visitors

3. Third-party services

Some pages show content from other organisations. When this content loads, the organisation concerned may receive information such as your IP address and may use cookies under its own policy:

• Google Maps — the location map on the Contact page
• YouTube — videos embedded in some blog posts, news items, portfolio and studio pages (privacy-enhanced embed: youtube-nocookie.com)
• Vimeo — videos embedded in portfolio and studio pages (do-not-track embed)
• Cloudflare Turnstile — human verification (spam protection) on the forms where it is used
• iyzico — online payment; you are redirected to iyzico’s payment page when you choose to pay by card

Links to our social media accounts only open the site concerned when you click them; they add no tracking code to our pages.

4. How information is used and shared

Your form information is used only to respond to your request, assess your application and get in touch with you; it is not sold and is not shared with third parties for marketing. It may be stored on the infrastructure of the suppliers that provide the website’s hosting and email services [names of service providers and their countries].

5. Security

Website traffic is carried over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Uploaded CVs and documents are stored in a non-public area and can only be viewed by authorised Academy staff through the management panel.

6. Retention

Form information is kept for as long as your request requires, and job applications for [period]; after that it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights and contact
